Connecting to Shell With PuTTY on Windows
This document explain how to connect to the SSH service using PuTTY on Windows.
- Download and install PuTTY. If you can't install files on your system, be sure to download the portable version.
- Upon opening PuTTY, enter the following details:
Optional - You can enter a name in the Saved Sessions section and click Save
- Host Name (IP address) as described in the getting started document you received
- Port (usually 22)
This will save the connection host and port for future sessions
Click Open to open a new connection
Enter user name and password when prompted
A shell prompt should appear
